Espresso Dry Rub Flank Steak

One of my favorite ways to marinate a good piece of meat is with a dry rub. This dry rub recipe has so many delicious flavors and the addition of ground espresso really takes it to the next level. This dry rub can be used on various cuts of meat and will be absolutely delicious!

Ingredients

2 lb flank steak

2 tablespoons ground espresso

2 tablespoons garlic powder

2 tablespoons chili powder

1 tablespoon smoked paprika

1 tablespoon onion powder

salt to taste

Directions

Add the ground espresso, garlic powder, chili powder, smoked paprika, onion powder and salt to a bowl. Mix with a spoon until everything is well combined

Put your flank steak into a glass baking dish and pour half of the dry rub over the top. Using your hands, rub the mixture on the meat

Flip the flank steak over and pour the other half of the dry rub over the top and rub the mixture on the meat

Cover the top of the baking dish and refrigerate preferably for 24 hours. If you do not have time for a 24 hour marinate, at minimum it should be marinated in the morning and sit in the refrigerator until ready to cook for dinner

Take the baking dish out of the refrigerator a half hour before cooking

Set your broiler to high and put the flank steak on a baking sheet

For medium rare, broil on each side for 6-8 minutes depending on the thickness of the meat

Let the meat rest for 10 minutes before slicing

Buon appetito!
