Panettone French Toast
If you grew up like me, it’s not Christmas until the first panettone comes into the house. They come in so many different flavors it can be hard to choose just one. It’s delicious on its own with a nice warm cup of coffee, but this panettone french toast is a Christmas morning must.
Ingredients
1 Tommaso Muzzi Fabbri Cherry Panttone or a panettone with candied fruit
6 eggs
1 cup of milk
1 tablespoon of cinnamon
1 packet of vanillina or tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon orange zest
maple syrup
Directions
Slice your panettone into about 1 inch slices
In a medium sized bowl, add your eggs, cinnamon, milk, vanillina and orange zest and whisk until everything is combined
Coat your pan with butter and place on medium heat
Dunk your slices of french toast into the egg mixture, making sure to coat both sides and then place in the pan. You should be able to fit two at a time
Cook 3-4 minutes or until golden brown, flip and do the same thing on the other side
Serve with powdered sugar and maple syrup
Buon appetito!
