Simple Tomato Sauce Recipe

This is my absolute favorite simple tomato sauce recipe. Not only is it flavorful while using minimal ingredients, but you’ll have dinner on the table in a half hour! How can you beat that?

Ingredients

1 28oz can of whole peeled tomatoes

2 tbsp olive oil

2 cloves of garlic, smashed

a handful of fresh basil + more for garnish

salt to taste

Directions

In a sauce pan, add your olive oil and smashed garlic. I like to smash my garlic so it’s in big pieces and I can remove it at the end

Let the oil and garlic sauté until the garlic browns slightly

Blend your can of whole peeled tomatoes and add them to the sauce pan

Throw in a handful of fresh basil and add salt to taste

Let cook on low heat for 30 minutes

Cook your favorite pasta, drain and add the sauce to it

Garnish with fresh basil and some parmigiano or pecorino

Buon appetito!

Note: If the sauce tastes too acidic, add a pinch of sugar or baking soda.
