Pesto Sauce

One of the most delicious and simplest sauces to make in the summer is pesto sauce. I love to make mine with pasta but the possibilities are endless. It’s delicious on some chicken or fish and takes a sandwich to the next level when slathered on some bread.

Ingredients

2 cups of basil

1 cup of almonds

1 cup olive oil

2 cloves of garlic

1/2 cup parmigiano

salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Wash you basil thoroughly, pick all of the leaves off and discard the stem

Add all of your ingredients to a blender or food processor and blend until you have a nice creamy sauce

Note Add you oil in a bit at a time. You can always add more but you can’t take it out once it’s in. You don’t want to end up with an oily pesto
